“Big Sur” is an unusual and powerful image of a rocky cove.  The waves crash in on the sand and rocks while a waterfall pours forth from the cliff-face. 

The photographer was perched on a matching cliff face while he took this photograph.  This allowed him to capture the fading sea and the perfect angle on the waterfall.  The blues and greens in this photograph are a marvel, and may not come through in full color on your monitor.

Big Sur is a delightful area of California where ocean meets forest-covered mountains.  It is filled with excellent hiking trails, and hosts a marathon event along Highway 1.
