“Phantom Ship” captures the play of light and shadow across a dramatic rock formation.  These shadows and subtle color changes suggest a ghost ship gliding by, barely discernable in the light of day. The unusual rock formation, filled with crevices and protrusions, delights the eye and inspires the imagination.

Delighted by the unusual shape and hidden treasure in this rock formation, our artist somehow managed to capture the subtle and the overt in this incredible image.  He even captured the intricate colors of the rock face!

This rock is found at Castle Crags State Park, but is a lava formation, not granite.  The artist was right at the water level to capture this image.
